The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) announced enrollment is open for the 2026-2027 Agriculture Risk and Price Loss Coverage program designed to protect producers from declines in crop revenue.

Enrollment for the 2026 crop year runs Sept. 16-Dec. 11, 2026, and enrollment for 2027 will run Nov. 2, 2026-March 15, 2027. Annual enrollment requires a signed contract, but farms can opt for a multi-year contract.

For the first time in two decades, the USDA expanded the total number of base acres, adding 30 million new base acres. The newly added acreage exceeds the nationwide cap, so newly allocated acres will receive a 3.69% prorated reduction.
