Irrigation-focused apps such as Tel Aviv, Israel-based Prospera Technologies’ Valley Insights were included on a list of the top agricultural apps for 2022 published by CropLife. The list was made up of 27 total apps that were introduced or significantly updated in the past year, or maintained continued use for growers.

Out of the total list, 14 were brand new in the past year, and most focused on precision ag practices.

Functionality, efficiency and accessibility are the three characteristics of a successful mobile application, according to Rob Weber, marketing manager at Software Solutions Integrated and the Grower 360 app, in the article.

“You want the user experience to be something they can adopt easily and decide what they need in order to be successful,” Weber says. “The design of the application need to be consistent to where it allows for easy navigation that enhances the user experience.”

One significant trend for agricultural apps in 2022 is mobile app integration, as more companies partner with other app providers to give professionals the option of using the infrastructure behind their applications for better results and productivity.

Another strong trend is creating trust with app users from the start, according to Sasha Shayovitch, head of marketing for Prospera Technologies.
