The Irrigation Association, Fairfax, Virginia, invites industry experts to submit proposals for the 2024 Irrigation Show and Education Week. This initiative aims to expand educational opportunities and provide valuable training and development for professionals in the irrigation industry, according to Nathan Bowen, Irrigation Association advocacy and public affairs vice president.

“The 2024 Irrigation Show and Education Week is an incredible opportunity for industry professionals to share their knowledge and insights,” says Bowen. “By contributing to our educational sessions, you can help shape the future of irrigation, drive innovation and promote best practices within our industry.”

Proposals must be brand agnostic and focused on delivering educational value rather than promoting specific products or services. The submission deadline is Aug. 30, and applicants will be notified of their proposal status by Sept. 16.

The IA is seeking two types of proposals:

High-level lightning sessions: These 20-minute sessions will be presented on the exhibit floor in the Innovation Hub, covering important topics such as current industry issues, trends, advocacy updates and industry outlooks.

Classroom-style deep-dive sessions: These 45-minute classroom presentations will offer more technical education on irrigation-related topics.

Content focus areas for proposals include:

  • Irrigation trends
  • Irrigation best practices
  • Diversity, inclusion and opportunity
  • Research
  • Sustainability and conservation issues
  • Technology and innovation
  • Advocacy and government relations
  • Workforce development
  • Professional and career development
  • Business growth and practices
