Oklahoma State University opens position for irrigated cotton project

Recruitment for the fully funded three-year project will remain open until the position is filled.

Oklahoma State University’s Irrigation Research Laboratory in the department of biosystems and agricultural engineering is recruiting a PhD student to lead the field and modeling work on a new three-year, externally funded research project.  

The newly funded research will focus on a sensor-based, district-scale irrigation management system for irrigated cotton within the Lugert-Altus Irrigation District, which serves roughly 50,000 irrigated cotton acres from a single reservoir.  

The project aims to answer two questions that determine irrigation during cotton season: When the first irrigation should begin and when the last can safely stop.
