Scholarships for students interested in irrigation

Students at two- and four-year schools must apply by Feb. 15 to be eligible.

College scholarship

Students studying at two- and four-year institutions are encouraged to apply for the 2021 Irrigation Association scholarship program. Applications are due by Feb. 15, 2021, and applicants will be notified of their status by April 1.

The scholarship program provides meaningful financial support for worthy candidates pursuing irrigation-related degrees. Scholarships are awarded based on the student’s letter of intent, financial need, reference letters, resume and list of irrigation-related courses taken or enrolled in.

To be eligible, a student must

  • be currently enrolled (undergraduate or graduate) at a U.S. technical or vocational school, community college, university or similar institution of higher learning with a graduation date of December 2021 or later.
  • be a U.S. citizen.
  • have taken or be currently enrolled in a class with an irrigation-related curriculum.
  • have a minimum of 2.5 cumulative grade point average, based on a 4.0 scale.
  • demonstrate financial need.
Those applying have a chance at a scholarship ranging from $1,000 to $2,500. More information is available on the IA website, including the scholarship program requirements and application process. Contact the workforce development department (703.536.7080) with any questions.
