Smart Irrigation Month

Smart Irrigation Month is almost here, and it’s shaping up to be one of our most visible and coordinated efforts yet. Every July, we take the opportunity to spotlight the value of efficient irrigation—from the technology in the field to the people who make it work. It’s a chance to celebrate this industry’s impact, but also to remind others why irrigation matters in a changing world.

Efficient irrigation supports food production, strengthens landscapes and drives sustainability at a time when water resources are under pressure. It’s also a major contributor to the U.S. economy, generating more than $23 billion in economic output and supporting 167,000 jobs. That’s something to be proud of—and something worth talking about.

That’s why this July, we’re inviting you to help us tell that story. Whether you’re working in agriculture, landscape, manufacturing or distribution, you can be part of Smart Irrigation Month in a way that’s authentic to your role and your community.

Here are a few ways to get involved:

  • Use our toolkit. We’ve made it easy with pre-designed social media graphics, outreach templates and marketing materials you can personalize and share.
  • Reach out to local media. Submit an op-ed, pitch a story or invite a reporter to visit a job site or farm. Local voices make a big impact.
  • Celebrate Wear Blue Wednesday on July 16. Wear blue, take a photo and post it with #SmartIrrigationMonth to show your support and help raise visibility across the industry.
  • Incorporate the campaign into your everyday work. Add the logo to your email signature, highlight Smart Irrigation Month in customer conversations or use one of our branded Zoom backgrounds for your meetings.

All resources are available here.

We’ll also be sharing new content throughout the month on IA’s social media channels—updates, features and real stories from the field—so be sure to follow along and tag us in your own efforts.
