Soiltech Wireless, Rupert, Idaho, was crowned the ag category winner of the Irrigation Association‘s 2021 Pitch Competition Dec. 9.
Nine startup irrigation technology companies went head-to-head in the competition’s agriculture and landscape categories Dec. 8 during the IA’s 2021 Irrigation Show and Education Week in San Diego. Each company presented their products on the Irrigation Show floor. A panel of judges evaluated the quality of their presentation, the product, market need and economic feasibility.
Soiltech, the ag category winner of the pitch competition, offers an encompassing farm management solution via sensor that can detect soil moisture, temperature, humidity, GPS location and crop damage. This in turn helps to optimize irrigation, reduce inputs and organize manpower.
The other startup tech companies that competed in the competition’s ag category included:
• Moleaer and its nano-bubble technology that delivers sustainable, chemical-free water treatment
• Altrac and its ST-140 Pump cellular controller that allows remote control of irrigation systems
• Vinduino and its predictive intelligence and automation sustainable tech
• Spherag and its solar-powered, real-time, cloud-based irrigation automation and management platform
The pitch competition’s landscape category winner was the Aqua Line Series by Simple Flow.
