The world of agriculture has infiltrated the gaming arena with new games focused on ag production. According to an article on AgDaily, John Deere has introduced FarmCraft as a new Minecraft experience for young gamers.

Minecraft is one of the best-selling video games, offering young users a nonviolent, educational and challenging video game focused on creativity, building and problem-solving. FarmCraft was created by Blockworks in collaboration with John Deere and gives players an introduction to modern agriculture through the virtual use of machines, processes, and decisions that go into farming today.

The FarmCraft experience, within Minecraft, is intended to educate young people on the importance of agriculture using a familiar, interactive platform, the article reports. Players are able to experience planting, growing and harvesting crops in their own custom tractors — all in Minecraft style.

The developers of this game see it as a fun and unique way to introduce and educate a whole new generation of young people to the world of agriculture and increase the number of students interested in pursuing careers in the ag industry.

Available now within the Minecraft Marketplace, FarmCraft provides an added educational benefit of player interaction with an automated researcher who explains the FarmCraft world and scenarios as players explore and complete activities.
