The American Farm Bureau Federation (AFBF) Women’s Leadership Committee released a new study conducted in collaboration with JBS and CoBank.
The survey, which gathered responses from more than 4,300 women across all 50 states and Puerto Rico, revealed that nearly 90% of respondents are interested in pursuing leadership opportunities now or in the future. Respondents also expressed strong confidence in balancing farm responsibilities, family obligations and serving as advocates for agriculture in their communities.
The research identified several areas where additional resources could help women thrive, including childcare and caregiving support, leadership development, financial management training, farm succession planning and overall well-being. More than half of respondents indicated interest in business and financial management education, while nearly half sought additional technical and equipment training.
AFBF leaders say the findings will help shape future programs, workshops and mentorship opportunities designed to support the growing influence of women across the agricultural industry.
