The National Association of State Departments of Agriculture advocated that four main topics be discussed in regard to the farm bill.

The National Association of State Departments of Agriculture, Saratoga Springs, New York, developed four key topics that the association is advocating be discussed during 2023 Farm Bill deliberations.

The four topics conceived by the association at its annual meeting include expanded funding for local and regional food processing, water quality improvement incentive programs, increased federal nutrition and food assistance, and reliable natural disaster assistance.

“The policies NASDA members passed today enable us to deepen our conversations about how to support farmers, rural communities and feed the world through the 2023 farm bill,” says NASDA CEO Ted McKinney.

“NASDA members are uniquely positioned to suggest innovative ideas and lead policymaking solutions for the 2023 farm bill because they are often the leaders first responding to farmers and consumers’ needs.”
