Survey highlights changing priorities for irrigators

New insights from Komet Irrigation’s Agritechnica survey reveal a shift in how agricultural irrigators and related professionals think about irrigation investments today. According to the survey, growers, OEMs and irrigation professionals report valuing irrigation for resilience, water management and long-term business confidence—not just increased productivity. 

At the 2026 Agritechnica trade show and exhibition, irrigation decision-makers shared the largest pressures facing their businesses. Their top concerns included: 

• Increasing regulation (33%) 

• Price volatility (29%)  

• Rising input costs, including energy, fertilizer and water (23%) 

• Labor shortages (15%) 

More than half of survey participants said energy savings, water-use efficiency and droplet uniformity are as important as productivity when considering irrigation investments. The results highlight how decision-makers are increasingly viewing irrigation technology as a strategic business investment that supports profitability, resource conservation and risk management.
