Best ag apps in 2021

Apps have been on the scene since 2010, and they have exploded in popularity and usefulness since that time. Matt Hopkins, senior online editor for the agribusiness group at Meister Media Worldwide shares his picks for the best agriculture apps in 2021 in CropLife, with a few irrigation-related apps making the list.

According to Hopkins, when comparing the agricultural apps launched today versus those that were first introduced more than a decade ago, the difference is monumental. He says the majority of the apps ag back in 2010 performed some basic functions of computing and record keeping, which almost seem archaic compared to the apps of today.

“Today, technologies like IoT, machine learning, and artificial intelligence (AI) have migrated apps to another level, wherein everything is focused on giving users actionable insights,” says Hopkins. “App developers continue to innovate new ways to solve problems, increase the availability of knowledge, and connect businesses to customers.”
